MUSIC: Sir Lord Baltimore

"There is no Accounting for Taste"

After a gazillion years,  the 70's power trio SIR LORD BALTIMORE (SLB) is now available on iTunes.  Such are the wonders of the digital world.

SLB was one of those bands only heard on WNEW-FM in NYC during the Alison Steele days.  They burst on the scene at the same time as Black Sabbath in 1970 and the influence is clear. The sound is mostly like Punk Metal.  I just downloaded a couple of favorites from the then vinyl album, "Kingdom Come."

I remember fondly the noisy raucus tune "I got a Woman."  Listening today, I think in time, the band would have had almost as much talent as Grand Funk Railroad just with a scratchier sound.   Still, it is fun to hear again as they will NEVER get airplay in the USA and I sold the record years ago in a College swap meet.
